Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital was founded in 1884 in New Brunswick, New
Jersey and was first called “New Brunswick City Hospital”. The hospital’s name
changed throughout the years until in 1986 when it was changed to “Robert Wood
Johnson University Hospital” after Robert Wood Johnson II, former president of
Johnson & Johnson. It serves as the
main medical provider for New Brunswick. Robert Wood Johnson provides a variety
of health care services.

regional trauma center for central New Jersey.
